About the Scholarship:

The university of Montreal offers an exemption scholarship program to international students in order to support them in their university studies, these scholarships are applied to undergraduate, masters as well as, doctorate, and postdoctoral fellowships.

Through this scholarship, the recipient will benefit from an exemption from the tuition fees that are normally charged to foreign students.

Scholarship Value:

– Undergraduate programs: the amount of the scholarship depends on the applicant’s academic record.

  • Level a: $11,998 annually or $5,999 per session
  • Level b: $5,718 annually or $2,859 per session
  • Level c: $2,000 annually or $1,000 per session

– Master: a partial exemption scholarship of $9,420 per year or $3,140 per session.

– Doctorate: an exemption scholarship that allows the candidate to benefit from the same tuition fees as Québec students.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants need to fulfil the following criteria:

  • Must be an international student.
  • Must have a study permit and not a Canadian citizen nor a permanent resident.
  • Must be enrolled full time in a study program.
  • Doesn’t already benefit from another type of tuition fee exemption.

How To Apply:

For this scholarship, applicants must first apply for admission in a study program of their interest, after that they will receive access codes that will allow them to access the “student centre” which will allow them to monitor their application and receive the acceptance letter.

After receiving the letter, their files will automatically be evaluated to see if they are eligible for this scholarship or not and if they are they will receive an email to inform them, which means they don’t need to apply for the university of Montreal exemption scholarship.

Deadlines:

Undergraduate:

  • For the Winter Semester: November 1st, 2020.
  • For the Autumn Semester: February 1st, 2021.

Master:

  • For the Winter Semester: November 1st, 2020.
  • For the Autumn Semester: July 1st, 2021.

Ph.D:

  • May 1st, 2021.
