New Zealand Government scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship offered by the Government of New Zealand to international students for undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D. degree programs.

The international student office at the applicants’ education institution will organize the candidates’ travel to their study location and their accommodations, they will also look after them and answer any kind of question they may have about their study courses, financial allowances, or payments.

Scholarship Benefits:
The awardee will receive the following benefits:
- The scholarship covers full tuition fees.
- Living allowance of NZ£$491/week that will help with a student’s basic living expenses.
- An establishment allowance, that will help with set-up costs in New Zealand, of NZ$3000.
- The scholarship also covers medical insurance.
- Airfare.
- Travel insurance.
- Travel home during the scholarship, as the candidates are allowed for one or two trips home depending on the length of their scholarship.
- For many postgraduate students, the scholarship also helps with research and thesis costs.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be 18 years at the start of their scholarship, except if they are applying for Samoa Foundation intake, in this case, they can be 17 years old when they start their scholarship, and there is no upper age limit.
- Scholarship applicants need to meet the minimum academic entry requirements and the minimum level of English language required for their courses.
- When applying for the scholarship, applicants don’t need to sit the English language test score. However, if a candidate is selected for the applicant shortlist during the scholarship selection process then, he/she will need to provide her/his English language test scores (IELTS, TOFEL, PTE Academic, or Cambridge Academic English). If the applicant doesn’t have any of these English language competency tests from the last 12 months, they will be told if and when they will need to sit one of them.
- Applicants who finished their high school studies a few years ago, must have relevant work experience and on their application form they must explain how their previous work experience relates to their proposed courses or career, and they must have: One year of fulltime work experience which means at least 30 hours per week, or Two years’ experience of part-time work which means up to 29 hours per week. This work experience can be paid, unpaid, or voluntary. School leavers and first-year undergraduate students don’t need to have work experience.
