Description

Experience a drink that’s as enchanting as it is delicious! This Iced Butterfly Pea Flower Tea Latte features vibrant blue tea swirls, creamy vanilla-infused sweetness, and a refreshing chill that makes it perfect for any occasion. The best part? It’s simple to prepare, yet looks like something you’d find at a trendy café.

Ingredients

  • Butterfly pea flower tea bags (2–3 bags for a stronger brew)
  • 1 cup hot filtered water
  • 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup half & half
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Ice cubes made with filtered water

Instructions

  • Steep the Tea:
Boil 1 cup of filtered water and pour it over 2–3 butterfly pea flower tea bags in a teapot or cup. Let the tea steep for 5–7 minutes until it turns a vibrant blue. Remove the tea bags and set the tea aside to cool.
  • Prepare the Vanilla Sweet Cream:
In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk together 1/2 cup half & half, 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk, and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • Assemble the Drink:
Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the cooled butterfly pea flower tea over the ice.
  • Add the Cream:
Slowly pour the vanilla sweet cream into the glass. Watch as the cream swirls beautifully through the blue tea.
  • Serve and Enjoy:
Give the drink a gentle stir if desired, or enjoy the layered look before mixing. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Tea Strength: For a more intense color and flavor, use an additional tea bag or steep for a longer time.
  • Sweetness Level: Adjust the sweetness by using more or less condensed milk to suit your taste.
  • Vegan Option: Substitute the condensed milk with coconut condensed milk and use a plant-based creamer instead of half & half.
  • Storage: The steeped tea can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Prepare the sweet cream fresh for the best flavor.
  • Add a Twist: For a refreshing citrus kick, add a splash of lemon juice, which will also transform the tea’s color to a vibrant purple.
