Description

Warm, creamy, and loaded with cheesy goodness, Mississippi Sin Dip is the ultimate party appetizer. Packed with savory ham, melty cheddar, and a touch of spice, this dip is baked to perfection in a bread bowl. Serve it with crackers, veggies, or bread chunks for a crowd-pleasing dish that’s sinfully delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • 1 large round loaf of bread (sourdough or similar)
  • Crackers, tortilla chips, or fresh vegetables for dipping

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and hot sauce. Mix until smooth.
  • Fold in the diced ham, ensuring it is evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  • Cut the top off the bread loaf and hollow out the center, leaving about an inch of bread around the edges. Save the removed bread pieces for dipping.
  • Spoon the dip mixture into the hollowed-out bread bowl. Place the bread bowl on a baking sheet and cover it with the bread top to prevent drying out.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and serve warm. Arrange bread chunks, crackers, or veggies around the bread bowl for dipping.

Notes

  • Make-Ahead Tip: Prepare the dip mixture a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Assemble and bake when ready to serve.
  • Leftovers: Store leftover dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
  • Variations: Substitute the ham with crumbled bacon or shredded chicken for a delicious twist.
