This quick and easy dish combines sweet, tangy, and savory flavors to create a meal that’s as delicious as it is impressive.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional garnish: chopped parsley or sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika. Set aside.
- Pat salmon fillets dry with a paper towel, then season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place salmon fillets skin-side down (if using skin-on salmon) and sear for 3–4 minutes until the skin is crispy.
- Flip the fillets and cook for another 2–3 minutes until the salmon is golden brown.
- Reduce the heat to low and pour the honey glaze over the salmon. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, spooning the glaze over the fillets continuously, until the salmon is cooked through and the glaze thickens slightly.
- Remove the salmon from the skillet and drizzle with the remaining glaze. Garnish with parsley or sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve warm with your favorite sides.
Notes
- For a spicy kick: Add red pepper flakes or sriracha to the glaze.
- Don’t overcook: Salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 125–130°F.
- Make it your own: Swap honey for maple syrup or use tamari for a gluten-free version.
