Description

These Chickpea Chocolate Truffles are the perfect blend of rich, fudgy, and nutritious. Made with protein-packed chickpeas, creamy nut butter, and dark chocolate, they offer a deliciously indulgent taste without the guilt. Whether you need a healthy dessert, post-workout snack, or a satisfying sweet treat, these truffles are easy to make, dairy-free, and naturally sweetened.

Ingredients

  • Canned chickpeas (drained and rinsed)
  • Almond butter
  • Dark chocolate chips (melted)
  • Maple syrup (optional for added sweetness)
  • Coconut oil
  • Optional toppings: Crushed nuts, shredded coconut, cacao nibs, sea salt flakes

Instructions

    • In a food processor, blend chickpeas, almond butter, melted dark chocolate, and maple syrup until smooth.
    • Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
    • Freeze for 20 minutes to firm up.
    • Meanwhile, melt dark chocolate and coconut oil together for the coating.
    • Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, ensuring full coverage.
    • Sprinkle with optional toppings like nuts, coconut, or cacao nibs while the coating is still wet.
    • Refrigerate for 30 minutes until the chocolate sets.
    • Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

Notes

    • Rinse chickpeas well – This removes any briny flavor from the can.
    • Use good-quality dark chocolate – A higher cocoa percentage enhances the richness.
    • Customize the flavors – Try adding cinnamon, espresso powder, or vanilla extract for a unique twist.
    • Store properly – Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
    • Dairy-free and gluten-free – These truffles are naturally free from dairy and gluten, making them a great alternative to traditional truffles.
