Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup Easter-themed M&M’s
Instructions
- Preheat Oven – Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Wet Ingredients – In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Stir until smooth, then add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Combine Dry Ingredients – In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until fully combined.
- Add Chocolate Chips – Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips.
- Shape Dough – Scoop about 1.5 tablespoons of dough and roll into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake – Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
- Decorate Immediately – While the cookies are still warm, press two whole M&M’s onto each cookie to create the bunny’s “face.” Then, add two M&M halves above for the “ears.”
- Cool and Serve – Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
- For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- To ensure M&M’s stick properly, press them into the cookies while they are still warm.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Swap out chocolate chips for white chocolate or peanut butter chips for a different flavor.
