Whether you’re serving them as an appetizer or a main dish, they’re guaranteed to be a hit!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ¼ cup finely chopped white onion
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 slider buns (preferably Hawaiian rolls)
  • 9 slices American cheese
  • 2430 dill pickle slices
  • 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

For the Special Sauce:

    • ⅔ cup mayonnaise
    • 2 ½ tablespoons sweet pickle relish
    • 2 teaspoons sugar
    • 1 ½ tablespoons yellow mustard
    • ½ teaspoon paprika
    • ½ teaspoon onion powder
    • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Make the Special Sauce

    • In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, sugar, mustard, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder.
    • Stir until well combined and refrigerate until needed.
  • Cook the Beef

    • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onions.
    • Season with salt and black pepper, breaking up the beef as it cooks.
    • Drain any excess grease and set aside.
  • Assemble the Sliders

    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Place the bottom halves of the slider buns in the dish.
    • Spread a thin layer of the special sauce over the bun bottoms.
    • Evenly distribute the cooked beef mixture over the sauce.
    • Layer American cheese slices over the beef.
    • Add dill pickle slices on top of the cheese.
  • Bake the Sliders

    • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes, until the cheese melts.
  • Add the Finishing Touches

    • Remove the foil and sprinkle shredded lettuce over the sliders.
    • Spread additional special sauce on the top buns, then place them over the lettuce.
    • Brush the tops of the buns with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
    • Return to the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes, until the buns are slightly toasted.
  • Serve and Enjoy

    • Let the sliders cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

    • Make-Ahead Tip: Cook the beef and prepare the special sauce in advance. Assemble and bake the sliders just before serving.
    • Cheese Choices: While American cheese gives that classic Big Mac taste, cheddar or Swiss can be used for variation.
    • To Keep the Sliders Crisp: Toast the bottom buns slightly before assembling to prevent sogginess.
    • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best results.
    • Spicy Twist: Add diced jalapeños to the beef mixture or mix sriracha into the special sauce for extra heat.
