Description

This Easter Dirt Cake is a delightful twist on the classic dirt pudding, featuring layers of crushed Oreos, creamy chocolate pudding, and a fluffy Cool Whip topping. Decorated with colorful candies and marshmallow Peeps, this no-bake dessert is perfect for Easter celebrations, spring parties, or any occasion that calls for a whimsical and delicious treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (15.5 ounces) Oreo cookies, crushed
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 2¾ cups milk
  • 2 boxes (3.4 ounces each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 12 ounces Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 cup pastel M&M’s
  • 20 marshmallow Peeps

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and instant chocolate pudding mix until fully combined and thickened.
  • Gently fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture, stirring until well combined.
  • Carefully fold in the Cool Whip, making sure to maintain a light and airy texture.
  • In a 13×9-inch dish, spread half of the crushed Oreos to create the base layer.
  • Pour the pudding mixture over the Oreo layer, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreos on top, covering the entire surface.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the dessert to set.
  • Before serving, decorate with pastel M&M’s and marshmallow Peeps for a festive Easter touch.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use chocolate fudge pudding instead of regular chocolate pudding.
  • Golden Oreos can be used for a lighter, vanilla version.
  • Decorate just before serving to keep the toppings fresh and vibrant.
  • To make this dessert ahead of time, prepare it up to 24 hours in advance and store it in the refrigerator.
