Description

This Pineapple Glazed Celebration Ham is a classic centerpiece for any holiday or special gathering. The smoky, savory flavor of the ham is enhanced by a sweet, caramelized brown sugar and pineapple glaze with a hint of warm cloves. Juicy, tender, and beautifully decorated with golden pineapple rings, this ham is a showstopper that brings both flavor and nostalgia to the table. Perfect for Easter, Christmas, or any festive occasion!

Ingredients

  • 1 (15-pound) bone-in ham
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 5 (20-ounce) cans of pineapple rings in 100% juice

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F and place the ham in a large roasting pan, cut side down. Score the surface of the ham in a crisscross pattern.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, ground cloves, and the juice from the canned pineapple. Stir and simmer until the sugar dissolves and the glaze slightly thickens.
  • Arrange pineapple rings over the ham, securing them with toothpicks.
  • Brush the ham generously with the prepared glaze. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 2 ½ to 3 hours, basting with glaze every 30 minutes.
  • In the last 30 minutes of baking, remove the foil to allow the glaze to caramelize and form a beautiful golden-brown crust.
  • Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

    • Store leftover ham in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
    • To reheat, cover with foil and warm in a 300°F oven for 20–30 minutes.
    • For extra caramelization, broil the ham for the last 5 minutes of cooking.
    • Use the pan drippings to create a delicious glaze to drizzle over the sliced ham.
