Description

This Banana Split Dump Cake is a fun, easy, and delicious twist on the classic banana split! Layers of ripe bananas, crushed pineapple, and fresh strawberries are topped with a buttery cake mix crust, then finished with whipped cream, nuts, and a drizzle of chocolate. It’s the perfect crowd-pleasing dessert for any occasion—sweet, fruity, and irresistibly indulgent!

Ingredients

  • Ripe bananas (4 medium), sliced
  • Crushed pineapple (1 can, 20 oz, drained)
  • Fresh strawberries (1 cup), sliced (plus more for topping)
  • Yellow or white cake mix (1 box)
  • Unsalted butter (1 stick, ½ cup), melted

For Toppings:

  • Heavy whipping cream (1 cup) or 1 tub whipped topping
  • Bananas (1-2), sliced (for garnish)
  • Fresh strawberries (½ cup), halved or sliced
  • Chopped pecans or walnuts (½ cup)
  • Chocolate syrup or melted chocolate (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Layer the fruit: Spread sliced bananas, drained pineapple, and sliced strawberries evenly in the dish.
  • Add the cake mix: Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the fruit layer.
  • Drizzle with melted butter: Pour butter over the cake mix, making sure to cover as much as possible.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
  • Let cool slightly, then top with whipped cream, fresh fruit, chopped nuts, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
  • Serve warm or chilled for a delicious, easy dessert!

Notes

  • For extra richness, use chocolate cake mix instead of yellow.
  • If using fresh pineapple, drain excess juice to prevent a soggy cake.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an even more indulgent treat!
