Ingredients
- For the Brownies:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- For the Strawberry Layer:
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- For the Chocolate Ganache:
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Make the Brownie Batter: In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until combined.
- Bake the Brownies: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let it cool completely.
- Add the Strawberry Layer: Arrange fresh strawberry slices evenly over the cooled brownies.
- Prepare the Chocolate Ganache: In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream until just simmering (do not boil). Pour over the chocolate chips in a bowl and let sit for 2 minutes. Stir until smooth.
- Assemble & Chill: Pour the ganache over the strawberries and spread evenly. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until the ganache is set.
- Slice & Serve: Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake them by 2-3 minutes.
- Use high-quality chocolate for the best ganache texture.
- Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- You can swap fresh strawberries for raspberry slices or other berries for a twist.
