Prepare the Mushroom Gravy:

- Add sliced onions and mushrooms, cooking until softened (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually pour in beef broth while stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer until the gravy thickens (around 3-4 minutes).
-
Combine & Serve:
- Return Salisbury steaks to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, cover, and simmer for another 10 minutes.
- Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- Ground Turkey Option: You can substitute beef with ground turkey for a leaner version.
- Make Ahead: The patties can be formed a day ahead and kept in the fridge.
- Freezing Tip: Cooked Salisbury steaks freeze well! Store in an airtight container with gravy for up to 2 months.
- Extra Flavor: A splash of red wine added to the gravy elevates the taste.
