Description

Ingredients

  • 1 can (14.75 oz) salmon, drained and flaked
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Mixture: In a large bowl, combine flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, onion, beaten egg, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and parsley. Mix well until fully combined.

  • Form the Croquettes: Shape the mixture into small patties or oval-shaped croquettes (about 2 inches in diameter).

  • Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.

  • Cook the Croquettes: Fry the croquettes for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  • Serve: Enjoy warm with tartar sauce, remoulade, or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, coat the croquettes in additional breadcrumbs before frying.
  • You can use fresh or canned salmon—just make sure to remove any bones and skin.
