Description

This Tater Tot Casserole with Ground Beef is a classic comfort food dish that’s creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. With just a few simple ingredients, this easy-to-make casserole is perfect for busy weeknights and is always a family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned. Drain excess grease.

  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, mixing well.

  • Pour the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

  • Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese over the beef mixture.

  • Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top.

  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the tater tots are crispy and golden brown.

  • Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheese on top and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

  • Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Meat variation: Swap ground beef with ground turkey or sausage for a different flavor.
  • Extra veggies: Add peas, corn, or green beans to the beef mixture for added nutrition.
  • Spice it up: Mix in some diced jalapeños or red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days
