Description

This creamy and flavorful Ground Turkey Stroganoff is a lighter twist on the classic dish, made with lean turkey, mushrooms, and a rich, savory sauce. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for a cozy dinner in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef or chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • 8 oz egg noodles (or pasta of choice)
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the Turkey: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground turkey and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.

  • Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add onions, garlic, and mushrooms. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

  • Make the Sauce: Add salt, pepper, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and broth. Simmer for 5 minutes. If using cornstarch, stir it in to thicken the sauce.

  • Combine Everything: Return the cooked turkey to the pan. Stir in sour cream and mix well. Let it heat through but do not boil.

  • Serve & Enjoy: Serve over cooked egg noodles and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For extra creaminess, swap sour cream for Greek yogurt.
  • Use ground beef or chicken as a substitute for turkey.
  • Serve with rice or mashed potatoes for a different twist.
