Description

Delicious BBQ Baked Chicken Thighs with a flavorful seasoning and your favorite barbecue sauce, perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well to create a seasoning paste.
  3. Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and coat them evenly with the seasoning paste. Make sure to get the seasoning under the skin for maximum flavor.
  4. Place the seasoned chicken thighs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  6. After 30 minutes, remove the chicken from the oven and brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over each thigh.
  7. Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy.
  8. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, broil the chicken for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
  • Try using different flavors of barbecue sauce, such as honey mustard or spicy chipotle, to customize the taste.
