Description
Delicious BBQ Baked Chicken Thighs with a flavorful seasoning and your favorite barbecue sauce, perfect for a hearty meal.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well to create a seasoning paste.
- Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and coat them evenly with the seasoning paste. Make sure to get the seasoning under the skin for maximum flavor.
- Place the seasoned chicken thighs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, remove the chicken from the oven and brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over each thigh.
- Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
- For extra crispy skin, broil the chicken for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
- Try using different flavors of barbecue sauce, such as honey mustard or spicy chipotle, to customize the taste.
