Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 small onion, diced
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 bag (about 32 ounces) frozen tater tots
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
-
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the meat is browned and the onion is soft. Drain any excess grease.
-
Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
-
Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese over the top.
-
Arrange the tater tots in a single layer over the cheese.
-
Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes or until the tater tots are crispy and golden.
-
Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheese over the top and return to the oven for 5–10 more minutes, until melted and bubbly.
-
Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
