Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 bag (32 ounces) frozen tater tots
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion until the meat is cooked through and the onion is translucent. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, frozen mixed vegetables, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese, then layer the frozen tater tots on top of the cheese in a single, even layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a healthier twist, substitute ground turkey for ground beef and use low-fat cheese.
- You can also add your favorite spices or hot sauce to the beef mixture for an extra kick.
- For a vegetarian version, replace the beef with black beans or lentils and use a plant-based cheese.
