Description
This cozy, layered beef and noodle casserole is full of bold flavor with ground beef, tomatoes, sour cream, and gooey cheese. A retro comfort food classic!
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 8 oz egg noodles, cooked and drained
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley, optional
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a skillet, brown beef with onion and garlic. Drain excess fat.

Add tomatoes, tomato paste, seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes.

In a 9×13 baking dish, layer half the noodles, all the sour cream, half the meat sauce, then repeat.

Top with cheeses and bake 25–30 minutes until bubbly.

Rest 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Great make-ahead meal—assemble and refrigerate, then bake when ready.
- Substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream for a lighter twist.
