Description

These vibrant, spicy, and smoky chicken tikka skewers are marinated in yogurt and Indian spices, then grilled or baked to juicy perfection. Perfect for appetizers or mains!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into 1.5-inch cubes
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)

Instructions

    • In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, spices, and salt to create a marinade.

    • Add chicken pieces to the marinade. Toss to coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

    • Soak wooden skewers in water (if using) for 30 minutes.

    • Preheat grill or oven to 425°F (220°C).

    • Thread marinated chicken onto skewers.

    • Grill or bake for 20–25 minutes, turning halfway, until chicken is cooked and slightly charred.

    • Serve with lemon wedges and cilantro.

Notes

  • You can use an air fryer at 390°F for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • For extra char, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
