All the comfort of Swedish meatballs in a rich, creamy sauce—tossed with tender pasta for a cozy one-pan dinner everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz egg noodles or pasta of choice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Roll into small meatballs.

  • Heat butter in a skillet and brown meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, add flour and stir to form a roux. Slowly whisk in beef broth, then add cream and Worcestershire.

  • Bring to a simmer and return meatballs to the pan. Cook for 10–12 minutes until cooked through.

  • Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and add to the meatball mixture.

  • Stir to combine and garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • You can use ground pork or a mix for more flavor.
  • Use sour cream in place of heavy cream for a tangier sauce.
  • Make the meatballs ahead and freeze for quick dinners.
