Description

Creamy, spiced Chicken Tikka Masala is the ultimate comfort dish with marinated chicken simmered in a rich tomato cream sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken breast or thighs, cubed
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt to taste

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

    • Marinate chicken in yogurt, lemon juice, and spices for at least 1 hour.

    • Cook marinated chicken in a hot skillet until browned; set aside.

    • In the same skillet, sauté onion, garlic, and ginger in butter until soft.

    • Add tomato puree and spices; simmer 10 minutes.

    • Stir in cream and add the chicken back to the pan.

    • Simmer until thickened and chicken is cooked through. Serve with rice or naan.

 

Notes

  • Marinating overnight enhances the flavor. Use coconut milk instead of cream for a dairy-free version.
