Description

This homemade Panda Express Orange Chicken tastes just like the takeout classic—crispy chicken bites glazed in a sweet and tangy orange sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • Oil for frying

For the Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

Instructions

    • Coat chicken in flour, dip in egg, then dredge in cornstarch.

    • Fry in hot oil until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

    • In a pan, combine all sauce ingredients except the cornstarch slurry.

    • Bring to a simmer, then stir in the slurry and cook until thickened.

    • Toss fried chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.

    • Serve over rice or with steamed veggies.

Notes

  • You can air fry or bake the chicken for a lighter option. Add orange zest for extra citrus flavor.
