Crispy on the outside and gooey inside, these cheesy ground beef quesadillas are a quick, comforting meal with bold Tex-Mex flavors. Perfect for busy weeknights or lazy weekends.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil, for frying

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Add onion and cook until soft.

  • Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, taco seasoning, salt, pepper, and salsa. Cook for 2–3 minutes.

  • Remove from heat.

  • Lay tortillas flat, sprinkle cheese on one half, then spoon beef mixture over the cheese. Top with more cheese and fold tortilla in half.

  • Heat a clean skillet with butter or oil over medium heat. Cook quesadillas one at a time until golden and crispy on both sides.

  • Slice and serve warm.

  • Use a mix of cheddar and Monterey Jack for best melt.
  • Add jalapeños or sautéed bell peppers for extra flavor.
  • Pairs well with sour cream, guacamole, or pico de gallo.
