Description
Let your slow cooker do the work—these short ribs are rich, savory, and incredibly tender after hours of low and slow cooking.
Ingredients
- 3 lb bone-in beef short ribs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 sprigs thyme
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions

Season short ribs and sear in a hot pan until browned. Transfer to slow cooker.

Add onion, garlic, broth, wine, tomato paste, Worcestershire, soy sauce, thyme, and bay leaf.

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until ribs are fork-tender.

Remove ribs and strain sauce. Skim off fat and serve with reduced sauce.
Notes
- For thicker sauce, simmer strained liquid on the stove.
- Pairs well with creamy mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
