Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick, 12 oz each)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary (or thyme)

Instructions

  1. Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Carefully add the steaks to the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes without moving them, until a golden-brown crust forms.
