Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Set up a breading station: place the flour in one shallow dish, whisk the eggs in another dish, and place the breadcrumbs in a third dish.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess, then dip into the eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Pour marinara sauce over the chicken, then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
