A delicious and easy-to-make Cheesy Chicken Parmesan Bake that is perfect for dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Set up a breading station: place the flour in one shallow dish, whisk the eggs in another dish, and place the breadcrumbs in a third dish.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess, then dip into the eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Pour marinara sauce over the chicken, then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- If using, garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- For a healthier version, use whole wheat breadcrumbs and bake the chicken instead of frying.
- Add sautéed vegetables like spinach or bell peppers to the marinara sauce for extra flavor and nutrition.
