Description
A delicious and flavorful recipe for Savory Herb-Crusted Beef Tenderloin, perfect for special occasions.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef tenderloin, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F.
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, rosemary, and thyme.
- Rub the beef tenderloin with olive oil, then coat it evenly with the herb mixture.
- Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the beef tenderloin on all sides until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the skillet from heat and brush the tenderloin with Dijon mustard and balsamic vinegar.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F for medium-rare.
- Remove the skillet from the oven and let the beef rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider marinating the beef in the herb mixture for a few hours or overnight.
- Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
- For a twist, try adding a tablespoon of horseradish to the mustard for a spicy kick.
