A quick and easy Chicken Parmesan Casserole that the whole family will love, combining pasta, chicken, and cheese in a delicious baked dish.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked rotini pasta
- 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
- 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rotini pasta, shredded chicken, marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese over the top of the pasta mixture.
- If using, mix the breadcrumbs with olive oil and sprinkle them over the cheese layer for added crunch.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil if desired before serving.
Notes
- For a healthier version, use whole wheat pasta and low-fat cheese.
- Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers to the mixture for extra nutrition and flavor.
