- 8 slices of whole grain bread
- 8 ounces of sliced turkey breast
- 4 slices of crispy bacon
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1 cup of lettuce leaves
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Toothpicks for assembly
Instructions
- Begin by toasting the slices of whole grain bread until golden brown. This adds a nice crunch to your sandwich.
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Spread a generous layer of the mayo-mustard mixture on one side of four slices of toasted bread.
- Layer the turkey breast evenly over the mayo-mustard spread on each of the four slices.
- Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of the turkey, followed by a layer of crispy bacon.
- Top with lettuce leaves and tomato slices.
- Place the remaining four slices of toasted bread on top, mayo-mustard side down.
- Secure each sandwich with toothpicks and cut them in half diagonally for easy handling.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 30 minutes before serving for a chilled option.
Notes
- For a healthier option, substitute turkey with grilled chicken or use avocado instead of mayonnaise.
- Add sliced pickles or avocado for extra flavor and texture. You can also experiment with different types of cheese, such as Swiss or pepper jack.
