Crack Burgers are a delicious and flavorful burger recipe that combines ground beef with ranch and onion soup mixes, topped with melted cheddar cheese and a special sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 hamburger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, and pickles for toppings
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ranch seasoning mix, and onion soup mix. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Form the mixture into 6 equal patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Use your thumb to create a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season the patties with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. Add shredded cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- While the burgers are cooking, mix together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup in a small bowl to create the sauce.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading the sauce on the bottom bun, adding the cooked patty, and topping with lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Place the top bun on and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add diced jalapeños or a few dashes of hot sauce to the beef mixture before forming the patties.
- Swap out the cheddar cheese for pepper jack or blue cheese for a different flavor profile.
