Delicious Red, White, and Blue M&M Cookie Bars perfect for celebrations.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup red, white, and blue M&M’s (or regular M&M’s)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the red, white, and blue M&M’s and white chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cookie bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- For a chewy texture, do not overbake the bars; they will continue to firm up as they cool.
- You can substitute the M&M’s with chocolate chips or nuts for different flavors.
