A quick and easy stir-fry recipe featuring ground turkey and colorful bell peppers, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 bell peppers (any color), sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onion and cook for about 2 minutes until it begins to soften.
- Stir in the ground turkey, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the sliced bell peppers, garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the peppers are tender-crisp.
- Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
- Serve the stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles and garnish with sliced green onions.
Notes
- For added crunch, toss in some chopped water chestnuts or snap peas during the last few minutes of cooking.
- Substitute ground turkey with ground chicken or beef for a different flavor profile.
