Description
A delightful and simple recipe for Honey Garlic Kielbasa Skillet, featuring savory kielbasa, colorful vegetables, and a sweet and tangy sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound kielbasa, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (any color)
- 1 cup onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 cups cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)
- Chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced kielbasa and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and onion to the skillet. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Pour this mixture over the kielbasa and vegetables in the skillet.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly. Stir occasionally.
- Serve the honey garlic kielbasa over cooked rice or quinoa, and garnish with chopped green onions.
Notes
- For a healthier option, substitute turkey kielbasa or chicken sausage.
- Add a cup of broccoli or snap peas for extra veggies and color.
