Description
Delicious sea salt chocolate chip cookies with a perfect balance of sweetness and a hint of salt.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle a small pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie before baking.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- For a chewier cookie, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
- You can substitute half of the chocolate chips with chopped nuts or use dark chocolate chips for a richer flavor.
