Description
A delicious and creamy pasta dish featuring cheese tortellini, crispy bacon, and a rich cheese sauce.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and place it on a paper towel to drain, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
- Add olive oil to the skillet with the bacon fat. Sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream and softened cream cheese. Cook until the cream cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce.
- Stir in the crispy bacon and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream and use reduced-fat cream cheese.
- Add vegetables like spinach or peas for extra nutrition and color. Sauté them with the garlic before adding the cream.
