Ingredients
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and granulated sugar. Mix until well blended.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking powder, salt, and flour. Gradually add this dry mixture to the yogurt mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour in the melted butter and gently fold it into the batter until fully incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
Notes
- For a citrus twist, add the zest of one lemon or orange to the batter.
- Substitute half of the all-purpose flour with almond flour for a nuttier flavor and texture.
