Carrot Tots are a delicious and healthy snack made from grated carrots and cheese, perfect for kids and adults alike.
Ingredients
- 2 cups grated carrots
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly grease the parchment with cooking spray or olive oil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated carrots, mozzarella cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small tot shapes, about 1 to 1.5 inches long, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tots are golden brown and crispy, flipping them halfway through for even cooking.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing in some chopped fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro.
- To make these tots spicier, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or some chopped jalapeños to the mixture.
