Description

Chili Lime Flank Steak is a zesty and flavorful dish perfect for grilling enthusiasts. This recipe combines the tanginess of lime with the warmth of chili spices, creating a deliciously marinated flank steak.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 8 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade.
  4. Grill the flank steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  5. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  6. Serve garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the marinade.
  • Serve the steak in tacos or on top of a salad for a delicious twist.
