Crispy, golden, and irresistibly dippable, these Copycat McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets are made with simple ingredients and taste just like the real deal—maybe even better!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup cold water
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions

In a bowl, combine ground chicken, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Scoop out tablespoon-sized amounts and shape into nuggets. Place on parchment and freeze for 15 minutes.

In another bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.

Gradually whisk in cold water until a smooth batter forms.

Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep pan.

Dip chilled nuggets in batter and fry in batches until golden and cooked through, about 5–6 minutes.

Drain on paper towels and serve with your favorite sauce.
Notes
- For an air fryer version, coat nuggets in breadcrumbs after battering and spray with oil.
- Let batter rest for 5 minutes before dipping for better texture.
