Description

Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a delicious dessert that combines the flavors of strawberries and cheesecake in a crispy, fried sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 slices of white bread
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Toss to coat and set aside to macerate for about 15 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on four slices of bread. Top with the macerated strawberries and then place the remaining slices of bread on top to create sandwiches.
  4. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, and cinnamon until well combined.
  5. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated. Then, press the edges into the crushed graham crackers to coat.
  6. In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the sandwiches in batches, frying for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  7. Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

  • For a chocolate twist, add chocolate chips to the cream cheese mixture before spreading.
  • Try using different fruits like blueberries or raspberries for a variety of flavors.
