Description
Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a delicious dessert that combines the flavors of strawberries and cheesecake in a crispy, fried sandwich.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 slices of white bread
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Toss to coat and set aside to macerate for about 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on four slices of bread. Top with the macerated strawberries and then place the remaining slices of bread on top to create sandwiches.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated. Then, press the edges into the crushed graham crackers to coat.
- In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the sandwiches in batches, frying for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve warm, topped with whipped cream if desired.
Notes
- For a chocolate twist, add chocolate chips to the cream cheese mixture before spreading.
- Try using different fruits like blueberries or raspberries for a variety of flavors.
