Located in Washington, DC, the US Department of State is equivalent to the Department of External Affairs of other countries. It is an administrative department of the United States federal government that takes care of the state’s foreign plans and international connections.
The main responsibilities of the US Department of State’s are to handle international treaties, contracts, and politic duties along with giving advice to the U.S. president and representing the U.S. at the United Nations.
In 1789, The US Department of State was established as the first administrative arm of the United States executive section and it is considered one of the most powerful and important executive agencies.
Global Undergraduate Exchange Program for Non-U.S. Citizens:
The Global Program Undergraduate exchange program (the global UGARD), invites excellent international students to apply for a one-semester scholarship for a non-degree full study .
The chosen candidates will also get the chance to experience community service, and benefit from professional development and cultural enrichment.
Application deadline:
Application for this scholarship program will be available on January 4, 2021, for the 2021/22 academic year, and the deadline is February 28, 2021.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program 2021, interested overseas students must:
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Be a citizen of a UGRAD participating country or currently residing in that country.
- Be registered as an undergraduate student at an accredited university. It doesn’t matter public or private and has at least one semester remaining at their home university at the conclusion of the UGRAD program.
- Have completed their high school education in their home country.
- Be eligible to receive and support the US student exchange visa (J-1) required for the program.
- Be committed to going back to their home country after the completion of the program.
- The applicant must have a solid knowledge of spoken and written English (there is an English Language training program for some finalists).
- Be available to begin studies in the United States in January 2022 or August 2021.

Application Procedures:
The Interested Applicants for the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program 2021 must apply through the U.S. Embassy in Public Affairs Section or Fulbright Commission in the applicant country.
