Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, dark soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger powder, black pepper, rice vinegar, and chili flakes (if using).
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken thighs or drumsticks in a resealable bag or shallow dish.
Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2–4 hours for deeper flavor.
Preheat the Air Fryer
Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat for 3–5 minutes.
Cook the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting the excess drip off. Reserve the leftover marinade for basting.
Place the chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through and brushing with the reserved marinade.
Check for Doneness
Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Garnish and Serve
Transfer the chicken to a plate, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve hot.
