Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract for glaze
  • Sliced almonds for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream butter, powdered sugar, and almond extract until fluffy.
  3. Mix in flour, cornstarch, and salt until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll dough into balls and slightly flatten on a lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 9–11 minutes. Let cool.
  6. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over cookies. Top with sliced almonds.

  • For a twist, substitute vanilla extract.
