Ingredients
  

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons dark rum optional
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream

Method
 

  1. Melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is bubbly.
  3. Slice the banana in half lengthwise and add it to the skillet, cooking for about 1-2 minutes on each side until caramelized.
  4. Carefully add the vanilla extract and rum, if using, and cook for another minute, allowing the alcohol to cook off.
  5. Remove from heat and serve the banana mixture over a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
