Ingredients

  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef ribeye or sirloin
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 onion sliced
  • Cooked white rice for serving
  • Optional toppings: shredded carrots cucumber, green onion, sesame seeds

Method

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, gochujang, garlic, and ginger. Add beef and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook beef and onions until caramelized and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Serve over rice with desired toppings.

Notes

  • Gochujang adds heat, but can be reduced or omitted for a milder version.
  • Add a fried egg on top for extra richness.
  • Great for meal prep—store components separately in the fridge.
