Ingredients
Method
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Arrange a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat it to 400°F.
- Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and place a wire rack inside the sheet.
Step 2: Season the Chicken Wings
- In a small bowl, combine kosher salt, garlic powder, and freshly ground black pepper.
- If needed, prepare the chicken wings by cutting through the first joint to remove the wing tip (discard or save for stock). Then, separate each wing into the drumette and flat sections.
- Pat the wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps the skin crisp up during roasting.
- Place the wings on the wire rack in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap.
- Sprinkle the seasoning mix evenly over the wings.
Step 3: Roast the Wings
- Roast the wings in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- The wings are ready when the skin is crispy and golden brown, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Step 4: Prepare the Garlic Parmesan Sauce
While the wings are roasting, prepare the sauce. In a large bowl, combine:
- 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
- 3 minced garlic cloves
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Allow it to cool slightly, then stir it into the Parmesan mixture.
Step 5: Toss the Wings
- Once the wings are done roasting, transfer them to the bowl with the Parmesan mixture.
- Toss the wings gently to ensure they are evenly coated in the garlic-butter-Parmesan sauce.
Step 6: Serve
- Arrange the wings on a large plate or platter.
- Sprinkle with additional grated Parmesan and a touch of parsley for garnish, if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Crispy Skin Tips: Patting the wings dry and using a wire rack are key to achieving crispy skin.
- Parmesan Quality: Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor. Pre-packaged Parmesan may not melt as well.
- Make It Spicy: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or drizzle with your favorite hot sauce for an extra kick.
- Air Fryer Option: You can cook these wings in an air fryer at 400°F for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Storage and Reheating: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 375°F oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
