Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets skin-on or skinless
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish optional

Method

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add salmon, skin-side down (if using), and cook for 3–4 minutes until crisp. Flip and cook for another 2–3 minutes, or until cooked through and golden. Remove salmon and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and add butter, honey, and lemon juice to the skillet. Stir until the butter is melted and the sauce begins to thicken slightly (about 1–2 minutes).
  5. Return salmon to the pan and spoon the honey butter sauce over each piece. Cook for another 1–2 minutes to coat well.
  6. Garnish with parsley or green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to your spice preference.
  • Use wild-caught salmon for a richer flavor.
  • Serve with rice, roasted veggies, or garlic mashed potatoes.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently.
  • Make it dairy-free by substituting plant-based butter.
