Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by gathering all your ingredients for the Cheesy Chicken Broccoli Orzo. Chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces and cut the broccoli into small florets for even cooking. If using frozen broccoli, be sure to thaw and drain it beforehand.
  2. In a large pot, heat a drizzle of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped chicken and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it’s browned and fully cooked.
  3. Once the chicken is cooked, stir in the orzo pasta, minced garlic, chicken broth, and seasonings of salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes or until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid has absorbed.
  5. After the orzo is cooked, carefully stir in the broccoli florets and cream. Allow the mixture to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, covered, until the broccoli is tender yet vibrant.
  6. Remove the pot from heat and stir in the freshly grated cheddar cheese until it’s completely melted and creamy. Serve hot.
